Charitable Foundation
Founded July 21, 1989, the Bremerton (Central) Lions Charitable Foundation was created with the remaining funds, approximately $249,000,
from the sale of Camp Sundown. The Foundation is tax-exempt under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)3, organized exclusively charitable purposes.
The Foundation has a 7 member Board of Directors, 2 of whom are immediate past club presidents, with 5 members appointed by the Board of
Directors of the club, each for 5-year terms. Voting membership of the Foundation is comprised of all active members of Bremerton Central
Lions Club. Each year up to 5% of the average value of the funds, over a rolling five year period, are available for community projects as
determined by the Board of Directors. Since it was founded in 1989, the Bremerton (Central) Lions Charitable Foundation has been able to
donate over $350,000 to worthy projects in our community.
